We do physics events.
Physics Unbound is run by Nic and Neha. We met whilst working for the Government a few years ago. Nic went on to work on energy policy, and Neha, a science communications expert, now works as the Public Relations Manager for science and engineering at Queen Mary University of London.
After leaving the Department for Energy and Climate Change to go travelling for six months, Nic was sat on a beach thinking about what she would do if she could do anything when the idea of Physics Unbound started to form.
Nic has always loved physics, but for reasons she still doesn’t quite understand, decided to study law when she left school. But the craving to learn physics didn’t go away. Years later and after reading far too many popular physics books, she finally made the leap and resigned from government with the goal to study physics.
Nic and Neha got together to form Physics Unbound late in 2013. The result is what you see here. We hope you’ll enjoy it.
Our goals
We aim to create something great for people who would like to learn more about what makes nature tick. To run events and trips where adults, whatever their background, can forget work for a while and escape into the world of physics.
We mix physics talks with others things that are also fun – films, pubs, hiking, cocktails, parks. And a few other ideas we have up our sleeves.
Our ethos
We love the idea of people having a good time and perhaps trying something new.
We want to help further people’s understanding of physics, astronomy and other related subjects in an engaging and accessible way.
We created a limited company so that we can do all this in a professional, legally compliant way. We started from scratch with our own money. We do not make a profit from our events – tickets are priced to cover costs only.
