Join us for a relaxing Sunday evening in a cosy bar in Sheffield and let two charming physicists and a comedian take you into the world of particle physics

Sit back and sip a Cosmospolitan or a Blackhole cocktail (or other drink of your choice!) as Dr Matthew Malek talks us through the basics of the building blocks of nature and how we know what we know. All in less than 30 minutes.

Prof. Davide Costanzo will then take us deeper into rabbit hole, explaining the latest discoveries in particle physics at CERN including on the Higgs boson and why a mysterious “bump” in the data collected from recent particle collisions could signal new physics.

We’ll have some quiz questions and to help keep things light, the fabulously cheeky comedian, Rik Moore will be our compere for the evening.

Who is Cocktails and Physics for?
